Gesteinslabor takes mentorship in Imperial Barrel Award

23.01.2020

For the first time in its company history Gesteinslabor takes part as mentor in the Imperial Barrel Award (IBA) - the famous AAPG competition which allows students worldwide to make real life experiences in oil field exploration.

The first edition of the IBA was held in 2006. This challenge provides a unique opportunity for students in geosciences and https://iba.aapg.org/petroleum engineering to apply their knowledge in exploration and prospective basin evaluation to a real-world hydrocarbon basin data set. The winning teams are awarded accolades and valuable prizes; all participants will gain experience in basin exploration and a network base for their future careers. Gesteinslabor offers its expertise in petrophysics, rock mechanics and structural geology to one of the participating university teams.

More information about the IBA is available at https://iba.aapg.org or from iba@aapg.org.
